5 Cool Things About NPE2009

If you’re looking to move your business forward, NPE2009 is the place to be this June. For the first time, we are co-locating with the industry’s leading educational and technical programs to bring you unprecedented opportunities to get the latest information and technology your business needs to stay competitive — solutions for today’s economic challenges. Add to this value the 2,000 exhibiting companies from around the world and NPE2009 equals your most convenient and efficient week to do business. You need to be at NPE2009, and here are just a few reasons why!

1. A Panorama of Tomorrow’s Technologies
This will be a transformational NPE, ushering in a new era for the plastics industry—an era when bioplastics become as commonplace as polyethylene and polycarbonate, when nanotechnology creates new composites with performance capabilities never before achieved, and when plastics become the heroes—not the perceived villains—in addressing energy scarcity, climate change, and other challenges.

2. ‘Technology Central’
The West Building of McCormick Place will serve as Technology Central for NPE2009. On the exhibit floor will be new types of multi-exhibitor pavilions dedicated to emerging technologies and specialized industry sectors like elastomers; an international plastics design competition; a theater for presentations by exhibitors; and co-located trade shows like MoldMaking Expo. In the huge adjacent conference area, multiple concurrent conferences will take place, including ANTEC, the world’s largest plastics technical conference.

3. A Design Competition for the World
At NPE2009, the first International Plastics Design Competition culminates with a grand display in Technology Central of innovations submitted by designers, toolmakers, processors, and OEMs from around the world, plus an awards ceremony during show week.

4. ‘Technology Theater’
SPI will dedicate an enclosed area on the West Building exhibit floor for a theater where exhibitors can make presentations or demonstrations to show attendees. Each presentation will last 20 minutes, and the schedule will be posted. All you need to do to attend is show up at the posted time.

5. Interactive Floor Plans—on the Show Floor
Map Your Show™ kiosks, placed at strategic points in all NPE2009 exhibit halls, will enable you to easily locate the exhibitors and products you need to see, plus essential facilities like food concessions, restrooms, and escalators. It will all be presented on interactive maps. An NPE2009 overview will show the total number of products by hall and provide a complete exhibitor list. You can view and print out maps of any hall by product. A “Get Directions” wizard will show you the best way to get to any hall from where you happen to be.
